The Kavli Institute at Cornell has fostered cross-disciplinary and cross-institution collaborations, providing valuable intellectual activity to the Cornell campus and to scientists around the globe. The Kavli Institute has partnered with each of the nanoscale science centers at Cornell as well as departments and faculty that have significant nanoscience activity. The Kavli Institute at Cornell was founded in 2004, through a gift by Fred Kavli and the Kavli Foundation. The Kavli Foundation advances science for the benefit of humanity and promotes increased public understanding and support for scientists and their work.
