Welcome

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) helps the Cornell community plan and coordinate research and represents the university in research matters as they relate to external agencies and sponsors. It supports the activities of sponsored research, technology transfer, research compliance, including care for research animals, and information services.

The Research Division has several office and functions:

  • The Office of the Vice Provost for Research houses the Senior Vice Provost for Research and staff supporting research administration, financial services, human resources, and communications.
  • The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) oversees the adminstration of sponsored programs at Cornell.
  • The Cornell Center for Technology, Enterprise and Commercialization (CCTEC) manages Cornell's technology and leverages the univesity's intellectual property in support of regional economic development.
  • The Office of Research Integrity and Assurance (ORIA) operates programs to assure the protection of subjects of research, both human and animal, and the responsible conduct of research.
  • The Cornell Center for Animal Resources and Education (CARE) provides highest quality animal care and educates faculty, staff, and students on the responsible use of animals in research.
  • Four national research centers and a dozen university-wide research centers engage in basic and applied research and education and outreach with the public.

Publications from the Office of the Vice Provost for Research tell the stories of discovery and knowledge transfer. [View current issues.]
